"How many times do we need to prove that poor women are bankable?"

Our Centers

Today, the Bank runs for sub-centers in area of Ahmedabad where large numbers of our members work or reside. About seventy banksathi's are engaged in keeping the contact between the Bank and the women alive and healthy. The center in Rakhial, for example – the second largest of the four centers – is situated in the thick of an industrial labor area, in a narrow, three – story building. Every house in the neighborhood is teeming with factory workers, contract laborers, or home – based workers rolling bidis or incense sticks or stitching garments of factories linked with the global market. At the center, financial transactions take place on the ground floor; there is a lounge on the second floor where the women can talk to each other, hold meetings, make friends, or simply rest; while the third floor serves as a training room.
